What we live by
Truelife church is a non-denominational church in E. Vancouver/Camas. The mission of the church is to lead people to true life in Christ by being fully devoted to Him. We strive to be a church where people can come experience what it truly means to find God and follow Jesus. The last thing we want to provide is a “plastic” feel, where everything seems fake and unrealistic. We’re ordinary people who have been rescued by Jesus. We think that people are hungry for the true life-changing power of God that is real and evident. We don’t just want to talk about God, we want to experience Him. The Bible says “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” God never wanted to prove Himself through debate or rhetoric, but through a genuine encounter with His presence. Quite honestly, we think church any other way is boring and mundane, so when you visit you can expect that “taste and see” approach!
We as a Church affirm that Jesus is Christ, the only Son of God and that no one is going to heaven without having made this acknowledgement. Each member of Christ's church must have this inner personal revelation. No man, flesh or blood can impart it.
What makes us family is our common salvation through Jesus Christ. This salvation makes us brothers and sisters, so it is vital that we all understand and believe together what the Bible says makes a person a Christian. This belief is an absolute.
We believe what the Bible says about the nature and existence of God.
God is absolutely pure in all He is and does (1 John 1:5). His motives in everything He does is love, He is selfless (1 John 4:16-19)
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. God created humans in his image to live in loving fellowship with him
We believe there is nothing you could invest your life in that would be more significant than reaching lost people for Christ. God wants our lives to be significant, not for us just to get by.
The Holy Spirit empowers us with gifts, convicts, guides, comforts, counsels, and leads us into truth through a communal life of worship and a missional expression of our faith. This expression is called the church. The church is rooted and grounded in Christ, practicing spiritual disciplines and celebrating baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The church is a global and local expression of living out the way of Jesus through love, peace, sacrifice, and healing as we embody the resurrected Christ, who lives in and through us to a broken and hurting world.
We believe in water baptism by immersion (Mark 1:9; Mark 28:10-20; Acts 18:8 & 1 John 2:23) and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:4)
